Abstract

Introduction: Access to reproductive health services is crucial but often limited for individuals with hearing and visual impairments. In Padang City, a program was initiated to improve knowledge and access to these services for disabled individuals, including adolescents and their families, through education and specialized training.

Research Methods: A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Surveys assessed changes in knowledge and service access, while interviews and focus groups explored personal experiences and community feedback. Effectiveness was measured through baseline and follow-up assessments.

Results and Discussion: The program exceeded its targets in many areas, with significant increases in knowledge among individuals with hearing impairments (128% of target) and access to mental health services for adolescent mothers (816% of target). Training outcomes were positive, with full achievement in sign language interpreter training (100%) and good progress in medical personnel training (84%). Challenges were noted in reaching pregnant women with hearing impairments.

Conclusion: The program effectively improved reproductive health knowledge and access for individuals with hearing and visual impairments. Despite some challenges, the overall success provides a solid foundation for future inclusive healthcare initiatives.
